Sheri is an accomplished Senior HR professional with over 15 years of diverse experience in manufacturing, healthcare and service environments. She has a proven track record as a knowledgeable business partner with the ability to identify problem areas and develop and implement solutions to achieve business results. Sheri is effective at building relationships and providing the highest level of service to meet the strategic needs of the individual, group or the whole organization.

Sheri holds a Master's Degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Industrial and Labor Relations from Clarkson University in Potsdam NY and a SPHR certification from Society for Human Resource Management.

Jim Smith, Jr.

Jim “Mr. Energy” Smith Jr. is a gifted and charismatic trainer, presenter and facilitator who helps people realize and exceed their potential – essentially to bring out their best!  His focus is on leadership, professional and personal development, diversity/inclusion and motivation as well as professional trainer, speaker and facilitator development.  Prior to starting his own firm, Jim worked in leadership positions for the Bob Pike Group, Simmons Associates, CoreStates Bank, the Vanguard Group of Investments and Prudential’s American Association of Retired Persons (AARP)

Jim holds a BA in English from Widener University and a MA in Journalism from Temple University

Samantha Saxenmeyer, M.Ed.
Director of Marketing and Performance Consultant

Prior to joining APLS Group, Samantha spent over ten years teaching in Texas, Connecticut, and North Carolina public schools. She holds a BA degree in History from Clemson University and a MS degree in Elementary Education from Central Connecticut State University. Her experience in planning and presenting professional development workshops for elementary educators lends itself well to the corporate training and consulting field. As a member of the APLS Group team, Samantha is responsible for coordinating all marketing efforts. Samantha is an Active member of the Junior League of Raleigh, a volunteer organization whose major purpose is to provide trained volunteer resources to community initiatives within Wake County.

Judith Leibowitz
Executive Coach

With 30 years experience as a consultant, trainer, manager and coach, her focus on executive coaching work is in enhancing leadership capacity by strengthening the interpersonal and strategic skills of her clients. Judith uses an approach that is holistic in nature, attending not only to organizational dynamics and interpersonal skills, but also to work-life balance. Executives develop skills in giving and receiving effective feedback, collaborative negotiation and problem solving, conflict resolution, effective listening, creating an authentic presence, and skillful coaching of direct reports. She also helps clients increase their knowledge and skills in addressing organizational, gender, race, and power dynamics. She holds an M.S. in Human Resource Development from The American University/NTL Institute and, a B.S. in Education from the University of Maryland.

Karen Parker, MA, M.Ed. 
Business and Education Consultant

Karen Parker is a training consultant and writer. Her passion is effective communication. Prior to joining APLS Group she spent over fifteen years as a teacher/counselor in public schools and community colleges in Colorado and New Jersey. Karen was featured in the University of Denver teacher training video Leaders In Learning. She transferred her teaching skills into training opportunities during subsequent roles as Liaison between Denver Health Medical Center and Colorado Department of Education, Affirmative Action Officer at Pine Hill (NJ) School District and President of the Camden County (NJ) School Counselors Association. Karen holds a BA in Speech Communication from the University of Denver, M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from Lesley University and a MA in School Counseling from University of Northern Colorado.

Mardi Hack
Senior Career Management Consultant

Mardi has over 14 years of experience developing focused strategies with directional counseling, resume development and outplacement counseling. Mardi assists clients who are planning to retire as well as those struggling to find their rightful place in the world of work, be they young or in midlife. Mardi holds a Bachelors Degree from Saint Mary's College, Notre Dame and Masters Degrees from both The University of Notre Dame and Seattle University.

Katie Perry
Senior Performance Consultant

Katie works closely with organizations to optimize employee performance by focusing on what and how employees should perform for success, and then building the framework needed to support the performance. Before starting Performance Matters in 1999, Katie spent seventeen years with Progress Energy - Carolinas. During that time, she served in a various training roles including course design, program implementation, program management, and training delivery. In addition to training, Katie also conducts performance assessments, leads team retreats, develops customized training programs and leads focus groups. Katie holds a BA degree in Communications from Winthrop University. Katie is the owner of Peformance Matters, Inc.

Phill Wilson
Sr Performance Consultant

Phill's dynamic and engaging style energizes the programs he facilitates. Using humor to build commonality and logic to reinforce learning, he brings models and concepts to life. He provides organizations with tailored training and organization development services. Relying on his strong foundations in science and interpersonal relationships, Phill is able to search out, discover and develop reliable and innovative strategies for corporations, leaders and teams. Prior to starting his own firm, Phill had an exceptional track record of success in international account management as VP of Sales& Marketing for Powell Manufacturing Co.and  extensive experience as an internal sales and leadership trainer at Nortel.

Phill holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Duke University and a Master in Education, Counseling from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte.  

Anne Doster

With over 20 years of executive coaching, leadership development, career transition, and organizational development experience, Dr. Anne Doster is well prepared to assist clients through all phases of their career management and transition. Anne has provided focused, practical and value-add executive development services to individuals and organizations. She works closely with her clients (the organization and the person to be coached) to qualify their needs at the early stages of project strategy and design to ensure a best-of-breed solution.
