411 Student Athlete ALERT

Two-hour overview that covers academic and college readiness, real money issues for student-athletes entering college, and social etiquette, including the effects of social media.


College and the Business of Athletics**  (Student Version)

Academic readiness tips to help high school student-athletes prepare for the next step. Real-world introduction into athletics as a business and the student as a product. (2-hour program)

Ready for High School Sports

Developed for middle school students with athletic aspirations to prepare them for high school academics and introduce them to college preparation.  (Adjustable 1- or 2-hour program)


Academic-Athletic Connection

Educate. Elevate. Graduate. One-hour presentation making the case for student-athletes to pursue a degree-seeking college education by using athletics as a vehicle. Emphasis is on the importance of proper planning to ensure you leave college with a degree and are career ready.


Participating in Learning Illumination Center’s student-athletes’ workshops will

  • Jump-start the student-athlete in thinking about how to prepare for college
  • Make a connection between grades and eligibility to play sports
  • ALERT student-athletes to the pitfalls of athletics without academics
